Not knowing what’s next

Throughout our lives we always somewhat plan what is the next step in our lives and how we plan to get there. After High school we plan college and after college, we plan a career. But what about after that? It would seem obvious that the American dream is that we start building a family with our person. But slowly that has faded. The American dream is no longer a dream for so many. SO what do we do next when we don’t know?

I would tell you to pause, take a breath and let you know everything is going to work out. Don’t stress about an outcome you have yet to figure out. There is nothing wrong with planning. I plan almost everything and I hate when I don’t have a plan set for myself. I am currently in a SEASON of not knowing what’s next. In this season I have learned to remind myself a couple of things I want to share with you.

  1. Enjoy the season you are in! This is a time to get to know you better, a time to draw closer to God and try or build something you’ve been wanting to do and never got to it. This is an opportunity, don’t waste it.

  2. Doors will open and doors will close. I have a degree that I am not using and I don’t know yet how my degree will come into play or if it ever will. My desire is to one day be a Women’s Pastor and hold a conference. A women’s empowerment conference. In Jesus name it will happen one day. It’s okay to test the waters and see what happens. There’s nothing wrong with taking a chance and it being a possible closed door.

  3. Do the last thing God told you to do until he gives you another direction. Easier said than done but it will keep you rooted until you know what’s next. There is nothing wrong with continuing to do something for a little while longer.

There is so much more I could share with you friend and only you know what’s next and how you will plan out the next season. Whatever you do, do onto the Lord. He has you and will guide you no matter how far you may think he is from you or you from him. He is near, just call upon him.
